Paul S. Smith

Mr. Smith is an associate at Forsberg & Umlauf, P.S.  His practice focuses on insurance defense litigation, insurance coverage, Jones Act cases, maritime personal injury defense, and other admiralty defense litigation.  Prior to joining the firm Mr. Smith practiced locally for several years, handling admiralty and maritime matters, including marine insurance defense litigation and marine insurance coverage cases.

• Experience:
  Prior to his career as an attorney, Mr. Smith worked for many years as a property and casualty claims adjuster and maritime claims adjuster.  He began his insurance career at Farmers Insurance and later worked for Great American Insurance Company and Royal Insurance.  Mr. Smith is a member and past-president of the Puget Sound Maritime Claims Association and a member of the Marine Insurance Association of Seattle.  He has presented lectures and taught classes for both associations on topics of interest to the marine insurance community.
